Well, I'm sitting in a McDonald's waiting on a girl to get out of class....and on enough pain meds to get me loopy and keep from driving to somewhere else. What better time for a brief blog update??! lol.... I'll try to just do child by child, short updates - that way doesn't risk other kids getting upset for being shut out!
Here goes:
Laura: don't hear from her
Heather: lives across Phoenix from us with Marcus and her 4 kiddos, but that doesn't mean we get to see them than we did when they lived closer! :-) She seems truly happy though.
Erica: don't hear from her either. I don't think she's doing medically well at all, but I can't say anything at all for sure.
Next Group:
Angelique and girls hanging out at my house for a little while. She loves her job; the girls are learning and funny,.
Caroline: became a citizen today!!!! (Which is dumb - law says she already is one, but to prepare to leave the country on a mission, $600 worth of blah was also required.) Working full time, preparing to go on a mission, lives with family.
Vito: have not heard from him since last Spring.
Bethany: lives across town. Her dad attempted to move in to rent share, but that didn't work out for thenm.
Katie: Katie got married over the summer; still working; her son just turned TWO!!
Ryan: Still plugging away at work and University. This semester he scored a position as an RA (or CA they have here)-seems to like it.
Mari: Honestly, I don't well understand what it is Mari does. So I try just a lot of love and supportP :-)
Max: Maxi is back from the national guard, but still active. Last I heard also working another job and having a girlfriend??? I can confirm none of it - I can confirm that the child still has a wicked nasty mouth to his mom...and so we don't talk to each much.
Elena: Lives semi-nearby. Just found out she's having a second baby. Seems happy about that.
Helen - spent a month this summer in Ethiopia - totally arranged/funded by herself, a learning experience. I was thrilled for her.
Abigail: 29wks pregnant with baby Ava. A lot of harsh issues happened earlier this year and she is maknig legal restitution for them now. She also was adopted by me earlier this year, so her last name and mine are different than the rest of her family. And her birth name reverted to her birthmom's name. Excitedly awaiting little Ava!!
Last group:
Steven: now 18yrs old, aged out at group home. Still doesn't seem to "get it". I can only hope for the best.
Rebecca: switched schools, loves this one, is in choir. Also performing now in a communiity theater group.
Angelica: will be graduating in a few months!! I'm nervous I won't be able to get her what she needs!!!!
Megan: she recently met 2 birth brothers from her very firsts adoption - just about to take a trip to see them all again. She's super excited!
Nicole: trying tennis because "if you such, they don't kick you off the team"....hmmm, good to consider.
Dominique: in trouble a lot folowing big sis oppositional behavior, but still loves to hug, touch, and spit
Sarah: 2 "student of the month" awards in her first few months back in public school! nice.
Vonetta: my favorite (same priveleges, consequences, more responsibilities - is "favrote" worth being? lol)
Ashley: honor roll!
Allie: alwayss trying to please still, loves activity days
Larry: loves bmx racing, swimming, ice hockey, and socerr. LOVES LOVES LOVES them.
Mom
I just had a hysterectomy.
I kept checking boxes that I was ok realizing this would prevent me from having more children. Am I okay with that? HECK YEAH!!! Working on recovery - most kids were really helpful...
